... a Scimitar (or any other GRP car) will burn / melt in a fire?
I don't know what GRP does when it gets hot, but I can remember my Dad telling me years ago of a a friend whose Scimitar burnt - there wasn't much left apart froma big melted mass flowing into the gutter....
thought I'd ask this close-to-worthless question in response to apprentice's heartfelt plea to increase the number of posts here....

The glass fibres don't burn, but the polyester resin sure does.
It burns when you weld new bits onto the chassis - and it burns when the inlet pipe falls out of the carburettor and fuel squirts all over the engine bay.
Scimitars are, of course, very exclusive machines - which is why so few PHers post here.
Nick.

would i be allowed to buy one if my name isnt nick?
got my eye on a modified se5, and i'm almost ready to splash cash.
what are they like living with them day to day, cos it'l be my only car?
go on then we'll let you like most old cars they prefer to be used as a daily driver and they are easy to live with imo, how has it been modified?
Cooling can be a problem so a decent switchable fan is a good mod as is an over sized radiator.
Grease your nipples (ooh er) on the suspension too and it should give you no trouble.
Enjoy your new motor
