You could tell it was a TVR?

It was just off the Megabowl Roundabout in Gloucester.

Purply blue pearl colour.

Snapped in half.

I think it was a Tuscan but can't be sure. Could tell it was adefinitely a Tiv by the trademark wheels and the gill door shutline. Coppers were hunting around it- it may have been nicked from County Chept TVR? Just a guess.

A really sad and sorry sight!

I dont know whats worse, knowing that somones pride and joy is a write off or knowing that they can snap in half in an accident.....

Thankfully, it's reported that everyone got out ok.

A guy at work who saw the two halves and the GRP all over the place reckoned it was a Blue Tuscan.

For a short, straight dual carraigeway there seem to be a high number of accidents. It's about a mile from where I live and every time I pass there's some wreckage there.

Yes the C&G Roundabout was the place where I had my very first accident back in 1994. I don't know what it is about that area but it is a nightmare.

Hope everyone is OK.

I'm sure it'll be much safer when they put a speed camera there

It could have been cut in half by the rescue services to get the people out without aggrivating any potential back injuries.

Indeed good shout. Having seen many, many Tuscan race meetings with shunts a'plenty at high speeds I can assure you that TVRs do nhot just split in half! Rich...

Saw this myself..

Looked like purple / blue Tuscan with cream leather (I know the interior was cream as there was not too much bodywork covering it.
Rear Bodywork of Tuscan was definately 50 Yards away from rest of car !!.
Loads of bodywork splinters elsewhere.

One rear wheel + suspension arm etc in middle of road, not sure where the other rear wheel was ?.

I could see the exhausts still attached to car so it had not split in half. The car was sideways in a layby off the dual carriageway. I guess the car had broken up when mounting the kerbs separating layby and road.

Hope driver / passenger are OK (If not stolen).

Havin seen Tuscans doing 100mph+ slam into grass mounds at Castle Combe and T-bone each other whilst full chat around Brands it still seems incredible that it should simply 'break-up' going over a kerb? Rich...

Appreciate your comments Rich, however, I doubt whether they removed the rear wheel and left it in the middle of the road to remove the occupants ?!.

I estimate that a car of this potential could be approaching 100mph at the point of this accident..... Scary !!

I couldn't be sure that the car had also rolled. Maybe, maybe not

Just saying what I saw.

You sound as though you are talking about Tuscan racers not Tuscan road cars (different models entirely)
