Maroon TVR V8S, registration J* AGJ, parked in the visitors spaces at my office carpark in Bridgwater today. Anyone on here?

My V8S used to regularly park in the same carpark (before I sold it) and used to cause quite a stir. Never thought I'd see another one parked there. Was hoping to bump into the owner for a chat!

Where did I say I worked for the EA?... was it you then CB?

I found the whole point of my employer and my choice of personal transport very amusing. I'm an engineer, not a tree-hugger, so I don't have ay moral concerns regarding owning such a vehicle. I did used to get quite a few comments and dissapproving looks from colleagues in other departments though!

Yes, there is a dark blue S in the town too. I see it occasionally and I think the guy works just up the road from me.

That was me

The car did indeed belong to Ian, I bought it from him in about June/July.

I'm contracting at EA in Bristol at the moment, and don't use the TVR everyday, (500 mile round trip each week), but when I do bring her down, boy do I get some comments. Especially when I nick a visitors space and/or park next to a colleague of mine I brought in to help as he has a track prepped 968CS.

Should be down again early Jan. I'll drop you a mail when I know when..

Hi Simon,

'twas good to see another V8S in that carpark. I did a bit of a 'double-take' as I couldn't quite believe it at first. Nice car mate. Glad you are enjoying it. I certainly miss my old car, especially causing a stir amongst the environmentalists in the office!

Like I said, didn't see you go, but I heard you giving it some 'beans' up the road as you left - and I sit on the side of the office furthest from the road! Sounded great! Has it got standard exhausts?

The government has spies everywhere. Besides, Bridgwater isn't that big a place...

It's probably very similar in size to 'Bridgwater' (correct spelling)!

I prefer my own spelling, but I've corrected it to avoid causing offence.

No offence taken. I am just thankful that I only work in 'that' town. I get to drive away at the end of the day and leave it all behind (not my favourite place you understand).

You haven't been to Wiveliscombe have you?! Although if I put on the peace and goodwill hat, the Taz does rattle the main square quite nicely!

And there was me trying to be subtle.. I'm pretty sure having only started it up and left the carpark I'd have kept her under 3K revs when leaving the car park, especially as the road was a little slippery.. Did slide gracefully somewhat sideways up the road though..

Has a tuned sports exhaust; not as loud as my old S3C, but still makes a nice noise.

Simon,

Glad to hear that your still enjoying the car, Let's face it it's hard not to. Now that the missus and i have moved from sunny WSM to Malvern we are starting to think about getting another Tiv as we both really miss those weekend blasts but we will have to wait until we have a garage built first.

Anyway hope she is still behaving herself.

All the best, Ian
