Sun is out! Get out there!

BMW 140i excitedly over took me yesterday, whatever… I can have a fast car and drive slowly!

Actually, to get me interested, I bought a DAS 6 V2 polishing machine. Wow, shiny paint. Plus changed bonnet badge to gold, very bling.

Probably the time to move on Richard.

Just a fact of life. Plenty of other cars out there if you fancy something fresh.

I think the fact is, we do less mileage nowadays, I certainly do. If it wasn’t for Track Days I would be doing very little mileage, (just as well with the price of fuel!).

Do you fancy a dabble with something else?

Last time I saw Richard was at Snetterton a few years back - he came to see a few of us in our TVRs on a track day - and he turned up in his Vantage.
And recently he has been talking more about his antique-dealer-mobile and his greenhouse.

I am a similar age to Richard and had driven my TVR twice since October.
Once when I went for my COVID booster (and some ahole scraped it in the car park and drove off without telling me), and once in an attempt to dry the condensation out of it.

Drove it yesterday a total of about 10 miles and remembered why I have it.
And heard an annoying rattle from the front left corner.

Correct. It comes to us all……….

What’s the point of it sitting in the garage when someone else could be enjoying it?

What are you thinking of doing Richard, if anything?

I must say that with these last few years of wet, miserable, grey winters I have quite happily left my car in the garage under a cover without any thoughts of pulling it out for the very, very rare nice day.

Saying that, I do use it a lot once the sun is out and will take it, (okay, it’s a Porsche Boxster S) as the car of choice for most occasions . There again, I haven’t got a Vantage which I might be tempted to use.

I don't drive my S during the winter. It used to get quite damp, so now I use & can recommend these ; the amount of moisture they suck out of the boot & cabin in a few weeks is quite impressive.

Two in the cabin and one in the boot does the job well. I bought 2 sets, because they take a few weeks to dry out between uses.

Fair enough - the weather in the UK is really annoying when owning a classic car, specifically a convertible, just love those days in a TVR when it’s clear and dry, not sure I could let that go……….only time will tell smile

Like today for instance, perfect Spring weather, I think BaconS is making room for a Hayabusa in that new greenhouse of his, use the crop production as camoflague and nobody will be any the wiser wink

It is beautiful weather!

Sadly, due to recovering from a minor op, I am repairing my compressor rather than driving with the roof down........
