Thule Roof Bars - 93 Estate - Screws too long
Discussion
Hi
I don't think I am doing anything stupid, but thought I would ask if anyone has experience of fitting Thule Roof bars to an 09 9-3 Estate which has no roof rails, just the 4 x fixing points.
I have purchased the Thule 753 Foot pack and the 3065 Fitting Kit.
All was going well until I went to screw the fitting kit to the foof fixing points, the screws were too long.
The kit comes with 2 sets of screws. One set are for a BMW (16mm long), the the instructions clearly state that the second set are 25mm and are for a Saab 93 with roof fixings.
The screws go in OK, but they bottom out in the blind hole.
I am guessing that I need a 20mm set screw, and not the 25mm ones supplied.
Anyone any experience of this set up.
Would have been a lot easier if the car had roof rails, the old rack would have fit!
