Bit of a confusing one:

I have a 2006 plate 9-3 (vector sport TID in variant) with the middle of the three audio options..... i.e. Single CD player in dash (located seperate to all controls etc) and then analogue bass/treble/balance controls. (in user manual there's 3 "Head units" and its the middle spec one.

I want to have Ipod direct connection to it, not via the crackly auxillary port in the arm rest, so that the Ipod charges. BUT no aftermarket solutions barring a £500+ parrot kit are avaliable....... so I was wondering if one of the fancy new units out of the facelift model 9-3s would go in?

I think they're in late 2007 on cars.... Dont mind if they cost a bit as the 9-3 will be staying with me for a few years so it's going to be worth the trouble.

Thanks, in advance

I'm pretty sure that can't be done, as the earlier cars used fibre-optic stuff which meant aftermarket upgrading was almost impossible to do, and the later 2007 on cars reverted back to cheaper generic GM stuff so isn't compatible either...

Or was it the other way around.....? redface

Belting, looks like I'm saving up for a hig-spec PAROT Kit. Any idea if there's any other modification/swap/change I can do?

I'm a bit of an audio-geek and like QUALITY sound, the speakers aren't bad, just the mid-spec head-unit thats all analogue and letting things down.
