During hard acceleration in 3rd and 4th gears the car misfires between 5 and 6000 rpm.Car runs perfectly otherwise.I've had sump clean, breather kit,Direct Ignition and plugs i the last 6 months so im wondering what causes this. Its a 2002 9-5 aero with 173000 on the clock so perhaps i should'nt push it that hard.Would be interested in hearing any views on this.

Fuel pump weak delivery at high RPM. Change fuel filter anyway if not done recently. Still wouldn't rule out DI, or just a fluffy plug.

Had similar issues on my 9-3 Aero, just when pushing it quite hard. Changed plugs and she is now running beautifully. Worth a try as it is a relatively cheap fix.

I agree, Worth noting they should be resistor plugs. I'd go NGK every time.
