Hi.

Can anybody tell me if there is a mod available to change the chrome headlight surrounds on the 2006> facelift 9-5 to match the body colour? The "glasses" look fine on paler coloured cars, but dreadful on darker colours.

I much prefer the 9-5 in silver, but I'd like to keep my options open. If the colour of the surrounds can be changed, I don't need to completely discount other colours.

Thanks in advance.

Yes - Abbott Racing will colour code them for you and someone else whom I forget offers them in a brushed satin chrome finish which tones them down a bit.

My Dame Edna is silver and I don't think they look that bad actually (perhaps I have grown used to it?)

Thanks for the info!

Now, doesn't that look nicer?

I *presumed* it was replacement trim, but this suggests that the bits are taken off and resprayed. Is there any reason my local (and bloody good) body shop couldn't do the work? I'm in Manchester so Essex is a bit far.

Funnily enough I have always thought the exact opposite - they look fine on darker colours but awful on the lighter ones!

I've grown quite attached to the Dame Edna's on my '07 Aero but i do agree that it looks smart when colour coded.

Time for a bit of photo shopping.

Don't see any reason why your local paint shop couldn't do it though.
