9-3 SC wipers park vertically

Got a small problem, yesterday whilst driving home in the snow/rain I noticed the wipers had stopped parking at the bottom of the screen but parking vertically. Everything works else as expected eg rain sensor, one and full speed.

So if I push down on the wiper stalk it does the wipe and parks vertically.
if i use the auto mode, when it stops it parks vertically, same for one and full speed.

any ideas?

it can be repaired so if you know your way around tools then do it your self or take it to saab if not.

for some strange reason the wipers are parking at the bottom again but not perfect still.

what do i need to do to fix it? i'm going to take apart the covering and have a look if the wiper arms are loose first.

not done anything.. slowing the wipers ended up on the bottom..

searching around on the web reveals that it's just a matter of time before the wipers start doing that again or fail completely

& now mines just done this, first of all they weren't quite parking right at the bottom of their sweep & after playing with them a bit, they are now 'upright', any ideas anyone? Car is currently SORN'd so I can't take it to anyone for a month or two, but it's bugging me.

Not sure if it has anything to the wet weather.. wipers parking vertically again a few days ago.. but the following day they parked at the bottom again..
