I want one as I believe this is one of the best ways to spend less than 1k on a 2nd car.I have a very small bundle of cash and this is a blatant post to anyone thinking of offloading one.

Apologies if this is not the way its done.

I hope you find one but you can't have mine! I'm fortunate to have a few cars but would never consider selling the 9000. Fantastic car.

I bought a 9000 last year, 150k on the clock with FSH. It's the best £1000 I've ever spent. Hugely impressed with it. Go for a 2.3 Anniversary or Aero

Most of them seem to have interstellar mileage but it doesnt worry me.

I had one with 400,000 on it before the shells finally failed. The body had gone a bit scabby to but it was still very quick. I'm on my third one now and looking out for another.

Anyone got any thoughts on this car? I've asked the seller if the ac is still working, (can't be doing without it and leather), I reckon the headlamp wiper motors are knacked as well wink

Headlamp wipers always go. Well, they have on both the ones I have had. Haven't felt the need to sort them.

You might want to have a look here at some info before buying, especially the not very popular autos.

I think the prices of 9000s have gone up quite a lot in the last year. I bought my 2.3 Anniversary with Aero wheels and almost FSH etc etc for £695 last year. I got the impression the guy hadn't had much interest. Anyway, it is a fantastic car. I have had a few little niggles and a couple of medium sized things go (DI cassette and clutch system - both go like clockwork so I was expecting them), but soon this car may or may not be chipped by myself (easy with help from the forums) to stage 1 or 2, circa 270bhp. Can't wait!

It looks good. A 9000 with only 80k miles on it, and with full history....I think you can almost guarantee it will be goodun. Also if the A/C isn't working, a simple re-gas will probably be all thats needed. Nothing major will have failed at that mileage.

I don't think 9000's have gone up at all in value. The case is more likely there are a few good ones that sell well on eBay and people see that and assume ALL sell rather well.

That looks a rather nice one in the link, but £2k is a lot of money when there are similar around for half and even less than half that money. Frankly though, if I were spending that sort of money I wouldn't want anything but a late Aero. You just can't get a better 9000, and Aero seats are fabulous. By comparison the Anniversary models are a little mix and match from what was left over or not in the parts bin. I have an R plate 2.3 Anniversary manual I may sell sometime soon which is the full blown B235R Aero engine variant. And to back up what I mean by mix and match, an Aero would not come without sunroof, cruise and no electric seats but mine is an Aero spec engined Anniversary and it's nothing more than a full blown 2.3 with aeroplane emblems embossed in the old Carlsson leather with suede seats, Aero wheels, half leather/wood steering wheel and air conditioning. But then to me it's only eight hundred quids worth of car despite it just having a new clutch and slave job at over a grand! Am I bothered, no. I have a 9-5 Aero brake with full BSR twin silencer system and big cat/pipe, stage 3 etc etc, which looks purposeful on 18 inch alloys and silly blacked windows. I still think a 9000 Aero is an all round better car. Well, maybe. I sometimes find I'm contradicting myself, but that's more to do with finding things the 9-5 lacks or betters the 9000 by. But then the 9000 is a hard car to fault if you don't try to make the comparison to say a 9-5 Aero. They are after all from different eras. The only real drawback with later 9000's is the lack of glove box! But a girl would say that tongue out

Thanks all. I do think its a bit over priced and the vendor hasn't got back to me so I'll leave it. Just missed out on a 97 Anni (auto, 128k) for 800 over on uksaabs which is a shame.

Unfortunately, I do want an auto (I know....) I used to have a lovely V70R which got written off by the other driver leaving their hand brake off and their car rolling down the hill, hitting my R and pushing it into next doors house... Still bhing with the other insurance company as the amount they've offered me does not take into account the mods to my car (which were all declared) so looking for a cheapish comfy barge till money's sorted and I buy an amg or a 540i wink

Cheers

I'm thinking similar thoughts re: 9000 aeros - what kind of mpg do you get? (non motorway mixed driving)

cheers!

My 170bhp 2.3 Anni is getting about 32mpg average. That is motorway and town, tip runs, country lanes etc.

On the motorway at 60mph, I can get 40mpg. At 70, I get 35mpg, and at 80/85 I get around 31mpg. Town driving and twisties sees about 26mpg.

I am about a month or two away from remapping the car to about 270bhp. Will keep you posted on MPG once the mods are done.

Early ones are thirstier than later ones - my '94 was averaging about 26mpg (according to the trip computer) but my '98 car was more like 30mpg. That's a good mix of A/B road, with some M-way and town driving too, and I have a heavy right foot.

I've just done a 426 mile journey from Turriff to Leeds, fast motorway (no refueling) and it was 32.7.
