Hi folks, both of these cars are for sale close to me. Had been looking at the 2001 model and really like it. It's exactly what I want, colour, model etc.

Now i've spotted the 2002 model and it's only a little bit more expensive, it is the right spec, model etc but wrong colour. So not exactly what i'm after.

Thing is, i've done some reading and i'm wondering if I should still go for the 2002 model? Is it that much of an improvement over the pre-facelift version? I'm sure i'd be happy with the older one but I don't want to regret not buying the other one.

Any suggestions.

Cheers

Ooh, I was hoping you'd reply, Aeropilot. Yes is good, care to elaborate?

Meant to say, it's a 2002 but on a 51-plate, does that still mean it has a 5-speed auto box?

If it's a facelift car, yes it will have the 5-speed auto 'box, but not with the flappy paddles though.

Facelift's cars have a much better suspension set-up with strengthened front hubs, better brakes, ESP, much better seats etc.,etc.

Cheers for the info.

Well I went and bought it. It's silver, 2002 51-plate, auto, full Saab service history, 67k on the clock, xenons, parking sensors, ESP, AS2, solar glass(windows looked quite dark?) plus all the usual kit.

It's getting MOT'd, serviced and should be getting front discs and pads done as they were quite low.

It also was under the book price from both Glass's and Parker's, so quite happy as I could only get a little bit off it.
