Hi guys,

I have a problem, got in the 9-3 this morning unlatched the roof and hit the switch and the display said "check storage" I got out opened the boot and the bag is down and nothing is hindering the bottom or sides.

Shut the boot hit switch and same thing 'bing bong' "check softtop storage" I've had a ferk with the wires to make sure they are not pulled out of the conectors, they're fine. I've checked the in car fuse box by the drivers door, they are all fine.

What else do I check is this common? I've not had the roof down for maybe a week or two and it was ok last time. Any ideas common faults to check etc please help.

The car is a '99 9-3 convertible (obviously) smile
Regards

little microswitches inside the boot storage bag are held with perishable rubber bands

How do I get to them? and what do I look for? I htink after having the bag down for a few hours it has reset as when on the drive back I hit the switch to see what errors flashed again and bar the latches nothing. So think the wires may have unbent?? But if ok weather tomo I'm going to have a good look into it.

I think theres 5 of those plastic fasteners across the top of the bag below the boot lid which you'll be lucky to get out without breaking them. Try a small blunt kitchen knife easing one side at a time

Similar problem.

Went over a speed bump the other day and got the message "check soft top".

Now getting the message "check soft top latches", tried to lower the roof and nothing at all - no noise, nothing. Anyone got any ideas please?

Sadly mine does this from time to time. I honestly have to say I think the bag in the boot if stored 'closed' for long periods makes the micro switches jam. Now as far as the the check latches that can flick up ( as I have found) from either when the roof is down and when it is about to be dropped.

Best bet is disconect the battery for 30 min it resets the ecu (so I have been told and it has worked for me)

Failing that open the boot and satrt disconecting and the re conecting all the roof wires.

Let me know how you get on as I'll do some delving for you matey if it fails again.

Make sure the storage area is fully pulled down - I mean FULLY. Give it a good tug. A fraction of a gnat's crochet makes all the difference.
