Check engine light on...help!

Hi Guys,

The Check engine light has come on, I have visually checked over the engine for leaks etc but nothing obvious, Handbook says about limphome mode which means rough idle,no aircon or cruise control. The car idles fine, aircon is working and cruise works so prob not that. I dont have a reader thing to plug in so realise its a bit clutching at straws but could the DI casette be on its way out? looks like it was mentioned on the boosing prob thread as a potential prob.

I havent noticed the car performing any different at all but it popped on after pulling off of a roundabout which I had been waiting at for about 15/20mins in traffic.

Any ideas?

there is lots of things it could be. the only way to really know is to get someone to read them. if u get that done them give me the code and i can help u out.

Check the Earth cable on the ECU, a bad earth will cause an Engine Check light to come on.

You need to have it read, it can be something or nothing.



I run with a cel more or less all the time, I know what it is and thats fine.
