All,

I have a 9-5 Aero HOT and have noticed the dreaded mayonnaise in the top of the oil filler. My first thought is head gasket failure but before I strip it all apart I was wondering about any alternative possibilities.

Is head gasket failure common? If so is the head prone to warping? (It's not over heated at all, very steady temperature).

Do they have an oil cooler in the radiator that could have failed resulting the the oil and water mixing?

Are the heads prone to cracking causing the fluids to mix?

It's done 198k, quite pleased it's got this far.

Thanks

Reading other forums it looks like the PCV could be blocked - pretty common problem it seems. Anyone had experience of this?

There's been at least one fix for the PCV system - well worth getting someone to clean it out and replace all the iffy hoses.
