Does anyone know if the black rubber cover/boot can be replaced with the antenna in-situ ?
Mine has denatured and split, I think its causing a noise at speed too due to the split.

No it can't.

New shark fin cost depends on which of the three types you have.

Rubber's all gone from mine - which is a dummy - replacement seems to require dropping the headlining which is a PITA that I can't face at the moment.

Correct, headliner requires dropping.

Mine has been chewed to buggery again by fox cubs using the rubber as a teething device rolleyes

This is the 3rd one the buggers have destroyed in the past 4 years......and at nearly £200 a pop for the SatNav enabled one...I'm not impressed furious

MIne has split too. I assume it's a dummy since no satnav or mobile installed.

Dropping the headlining does not appeal much but I doubt a bodge fix using some sealant would last long.

Still, at least I don't have a problem with foxes ..... have you though about leaving something else for them to chew on - or adding something they would not like to the surface of the antenna?

Don't use mine for anything so bought some black automotive mastic and filled it.

Easy job replacing the sharksfin on an estate. Doesn't look an aufull lot more difficult on a saloon either. Aproach from one side, remove grab handle, pull c piller cover, pull down on headlining and 'voila' there it is.
