saab 900 turbo t16
Discussion
I suppose it depends if you are judging it against more modern machinery ,in which case it will be hopeless but last pretty much forever, or wether you judge it for what it is ,which is of course subjective!
They do have a large and enthusiastic following ,and seem to be worth good money ,even with a few miles on .See if you can get hold of a Ruby!

Blimey, no c900 topics for ages and 2 come along at once!
They're great!
Rollcage> depends what you mean by hopeless! Compared to 95% of the cars on the road a decent T16S will still show them a clean pair of heels. 175/185bhp is only half the story - when overtaking they are pretty quick through the gears when on boost. Of course the performance levels don't match up to what is available now, and if you drive with a degree of mechanical sympathy it's not going to win every traffic light GP (8 secs to 60?) but that's not what they're about
Anyway, here's mine:

Mayaswell add my tuppence worth.
Set up correctly, they will still make drivers of more modern machinery look twice.
Add to that, they look different - in a cool way IMHO. However, remember the newest ones are still 16 years old, and will likley have covered at least 100,000 miles. Engines are bulletproof (in general), but gearboxes are marginal - especially when upping the power). Handling is good - esp if using bilstein B6 HD dampers and kilen springs, with front ARB removed and camber/castor/toe-in all re-adjusted. Interior isn't huge - these cars are all bonnet and boot.
Anyway, i'd happily recommend c900 ownership to anyone.

heres mine.....bought it as a dialy driver and used it for about 5k then bought a £500 900i 16v classic as a daily driver to keep the miles down on the t16s, which is getting silly as the t16s was bought to keep the miles down on the focus rs!
fantastic cars love them to bits for the money theres nothing id rather drive......even my £500 shed has had nothing go wrong in the 5k miles ive had her and feels like its good for another 100k!
the t16s is a quick car too...a few private road runs proves it to be identical to a 330d sport of a friend of mine.(mine has the red box tho).

Bought a T16 Aero on Friday night.
Drove it down to Devon on Saturday morning for the weekend, coped fine with both the motorway, A roads and traffic jams. Quite surprised by its mid range shove, and as far as I can tell it is totally standard.
I'm liking it a lot, and looking forward to sorting a few niggles on it out.

Bri - let's have a bit more info, please; price, age, condition, pics if possible. I am a bit surprised at what traders are asking for c900's at the moment (ie Citikars) so would love to know what they are selling for in the real world.
We have had two and I really regret s3elling the second one, though it was unreliable. When finaces allow I hope to get another 3 door turbo.

Only just seen your question, so sorry for the late reply.
I paid £350 for mine, with 6 months tax and test.
By no means is it perfect, one front wing needs replacing and the panels are all slightly different shades of red... but it goes well. Especially since fitting a superchip modified APC box.

You mean the one on the actual ECU? if so, no.
Not sure whats been done to the APC box, I put pictures up on UKsaabs a couple of weeks ago of the circuit boards. I've wound the pots back slightly as it boosted too much too quickly.
My original APC gave up, hence fitting this one. Couldn't handle any more time with base boost.
