Hi All

Off to look at a saab 900 2.0 se turbo tonight with the intention of buying it

love the idea of the power comfort ect and the new world of the turbo. (always been into carbs ect)

the car is a 1998 and i just wondered:

What to look for when looking round the car

key issues or noises to keep an ear/eye out for

tuning potential with these

anything else i might like to know

Cheers in advance

Ben

If you're going for a 1998 900 you should really try for a 9-3 (same shape but something like several thousand improvements on the 900). I've been driving round in a S plate 9-3 2.0SE for nine months with no problems (it's done 125k miles). Also be careful what spec you get - it's very difficult to tell what the power output will be at first glance. If I recall correctly there's a 155bhp, 185bhp (both light pressure turbos) and the high out put 205bhp. The chassis number will tell you the difference but you can distinguish the 185 from the 155 if it has turbo gauge to the right of the speedo. The 155 doesn't.

happy hunting
