saab overheating

saab 900 turbo 1997 128 k miles with a/c - problem -during long journeys my saab radaitor fan does not kick in . i can not see any visible faults , my mechanic told me that my car has no relay for fan high fuse and wiring . he checked fan unit and radator both ok . he has no clues except for missing relay unit . is this correct ? if so how to resolve this problem including diy job? regards

my car did the same thing two weeks ago
i got it fixed for free and it doesnt overheat no more, plus for some reason the car goes faster!
