Hi All

I have a c900 t16 ruby and am fed up with all he cowboys and rip of merchants i come across - im at a cross roads with the car and will sell if i cant find some all rounder to do work - i need cosmetic as well as mechanical work done

MOT failed on headlights only - i have two new reflectors ready to fit - want brakes done also as well as few service parts - she has 1 owner full history and 110k - the best driving saab ive come across and still blisteringly quick

Money permitting and if said person agrees its worth it - wheel refurb - new wing (maybe)and there are a few cosmetic items - i want her under sealed as well

i live in oxford but am willing to travel

cheers all

Cannot recommend Martin at Jamsaab (www.jamsaab.co.uk) highly enough. I take my c900 and 99 T16 to him. He is in Bristol, I am in Aberdeen! Says it all really.

Wessy at Nottingham Saab also comes highly recommended though not used him myself.

Have a look on www.uksaabs.co.uk where there is a list of recommended garages.

No personal experience of JamSaab or Nottingham Saab but I have heard good things about both.

I have used West Midlands Saab Specialists for 5 years and my dad has used them since their mechanics were at Eachelhurst Saab in Birmingham and I have found them excellent.

There are a lot of cowboys out there though. My car has never been quite the same since it took an unfortunate visit to one a couple of years ago.

A low mileage Ruby will always be worth a premium though so worth spending on it. I nearly bought one 6 years ago.

A short run down the A34 from you is DCA Saab, near Newbury. They've always sorted out my Saabs well, and do everything from a service to a complete resto. Breakers too, so have lots of parts in stock.

01635 860086, no website.

Cheers guys - really appreciate all the input - Shame DCA dont have a website - ive never heard of them actually - id love to make her shop new but due to where i live (no off street parking and very cramped streets) its debatable wether to speand all the money right now

The local saab experts arent cowboys they are just mind F***ingly expensive and dont do cosmetic work at all - i was so fed up i prepared an ad but the response i get from everyone is too hold on - i just feel guilty with the miles i do but i think i should spend and keep her another year

Ill sound DCA out as its close otherwose its a book in and day trip to bristol!! There are many places one can find but its so much better to ahve reccomendations

Nice one!!

I've used West Midlands Saab (they still look after my track car), Nottingham Saab and Jamsaab down in Bristol. I currently live in London, so not quite as far to travel as TfatC.
Anyway, i still use Wes at Nottingham Saab (was there yesterday) and again can't recommend him highly enough. Very very reasonable prices (in fact there has been occasions where he hasn't even bothered to charge me for menial work he has done to my c900T16s) and usually has a courtesy car available. He (like Martin to be fair) knows his c900's very well - in fact he used to race on back in the eighties.
Anyway, either Jamsaab or Nottingham saab will serve you well. Good luck.

Can highly recommend Glenn Ellis at Carnetix, Melton Mowbray. Know him from his days at Trent Saab (who went on to become TSL Subaru) - customer focused, stunning attention to detail, all round good egg too. smile

Another vote for Wes from me as well. He's never done anything major for me but has always been helpful and he's done a few freebies.
