side light bulb change - 93 05 rag top
Discussion
Car was going for an MOT yesterday, so I just gave it a quick light check, and sods law, since cheking everything on the car last weekend a side light bulb had gone on the near side.
Not a problem, 2 second easy job I thought!
Anyone done this 'simple' job? The access you get is through a 2" round hole at the rear of the light asembly (which is OK if you have hands the size of a 3 year old!), with access further obstructed by a fuse box (which does remove) and the battery, meaning you can't see what you are doing.
Finally got it out by tugging gently on the wires as I couldn't get enough purchase on the fitting through the 2" hole with my fingers to remove fitting.
When it did come out it was a special push in bulb. Poped to the local Saab dealer expecting a silly price and was wrong, only 54p.
Glad I wasn't paying Saab main dealer rates to change the bulb!

I believe there are easier ways to do this involving popping the light unit out or removing other components but of course you then need to get it back correctly aligned. Seems a bit much for such a simple thing and a cheap bulb.
