1999 Saab 95 2.3 Turbo Check Engine light
Discussion
Hi guy's recently aqyuired the above from my brother, it drives perfectly. Turbo boosting as it should and the engine revs freely with no problems or odd noises.
Got the check engine light today, no change in the way the car drives and no limp mode. checked oil and water no issues there.
I dont have a clue what it could be but I was wondering if any of you have come accross this before? I am sure its fairly common with the older cars but is there a common cause to the light? Just want to narrow it down before I take it to a garage and pay for the diags.
The car has 160K on the clock but has been serviced regulary and driven sesnibly for its whole life. Its been in the family since 99

Had the engine light come on in my 9-5 whilst half way around Europe. It carried on for the rest of the trip without a hiccup.
Upon return I took it to the local Saab specialist, it needed a new DI cassette. They installed a reconditioned replacement for about £100, performed flawlessly since then.
So could be that.

Took it to Saab,
Lamda sensor has gone, not sure which one of the two it is but i have the part number and it is the more expensive one if thats possible.
Question I have is how long would you drive your car with this sensor duff? I need to drive from frankfurt to Berlin at the end of this month, a friend of mine has a garage there and I can pick the part up for 115 Euro.
