Hi,

My mums 1998 Saab 93 2Ltr has developed a fault.

The convertible roof and 'leccy windows won't open.

Anyone got any experience of this - or got some pointers of where to look?

Thanks

sadly no we didn't it's ongoing (but intermittent) - each time it packs up I threaten it with the toolbox and it sorts itself out. I suspect a loose connection under the key barrel

Took the car into very very helpful local Saab dealer, he checked everything while I was there with his diagnostic tool, showed all valves in roof were not working, said that should never happen so had to take car in to investigate, an hour or so later it was fixed, apparently if the valve solenoids get knocked even slightly out of line the roof malfunctions, mechanic simply reprogrammed the roof and it is as right as rain (which it will now it is fixed!!!)

hello. had a few problems with my girlfriens roof or maybe it was the girlfriend. two things to check first check that you have not lifted the boot roof cover up with shopping or hung it up and forgot to let it back down.next is a little harder first you remove carpet in top right hand side of boot this will reveal the drive arm for the rear hood that lifts up to let your roof go down into the boot.this drive arm is linked to the boot hood via a joint the two are joined by a pin running through both bars at the joint. this pin can and as broke so the motors turning but not moving anything past this joint.easy fix line the holes up and knock old pin out and replace with another pin or somthing suitable. hope this helps. also a tell tale sign is the roof seems to be doing the oposite to what it should do and the flip up lid stays locked or unlocked
