Fitting 18" alloys on a 9-3 Aero - Advice please

I've had my 9-3 Aero vert for a week and want to replace the 17" alloys for a set of 18's, primarily beacuse the front tyres need replacing and the front rims have a few marks on them, a perfect case to replace them for a set of 18's, even the won the wife round with this one

Can someone tell me if there are any problems fitting aftermarket 18's to an Aero, think i read that somewhere about catching the larger calipers fitted on Aeros. Surely if i stick to the same pcd dimensions i shouldn't get any problems?? 5x110 65.1 bore and offset 35-38??

Also can i stick with the same 225 / 40 profile tyres as i dont want the ride too hard using 35 profile tyres.

No problems fitting 18" rims, as long as you keep to the parameters as you mention. You can go up to ET of 41 as these are what the factory approved Hirsch 18" rims are.
However, there arn't actually many alloys to choose from in the appropiate size range, so it's not such a straightforward as that.
And watch the weight, fitting heavy 'bling' rims with make a vert horrid because of the extra unsprung weight.

No need to go to 35 tyres either.

I'm running 225/40x18 tyres on my 18" Hirsch rims.

i have 18" on my Aero. the standard tyre sizes for the 18" (7.5" wide) alloy are 225/45. iirc 17" the tyres are 235/45. hirsch alloys 18" are 8" wide with 235/40.
