Hi

I guess with the above car I'm asking the wrong question, however have been offered one and am interested.

However ( puts on sensible hat ), I do around 20k miles pa. Roughly what can I expect from the car ?

Thanks

I have a 9-3 Areo 2.0T rag top

The SID drops to about 26mpg with the wife driving around town, but on a long motorway run I can get the mpg up to about 33.

Hope this helps

2007 93 Aero Auto here.

Motorway at 65ish for most of the tank and you will get 33-34mpg

but if you enjoy it and do a fair bit of town driving you'll be closer to 27mpg.

I just finished a tank yesterday of town driving only and was about 54 litres for 300 miles, but that's my worst ever, usually I'm 320-350 a tank, I've had over 400 on long trips before.

Old (hatchback/coupé) or new ('Sport Saloon'/'Sport Estate') version? Not that fuel consumption differs that much despite them being two completely different engines, mind...

i'm quite surprised at the mpg of the 2.0T, i lead to beleive it was considerably better than the 2.8T. looking at the posts here it seems they are very similar.

i 400miles easily from a tank if i keep it below 85. normally i get 350-380 depending on how much effort i've made to get to work smile

As a comparison - I'm currently running a 9-3 2.0t Auto (2008 / 08) as a hire car.

I've put 2700 miles on it since the 9th Dec, and it's averaged 420 miles from each tankful - mainly motorways granted, but when I get on the twisty roads it gets treated like a rental (IYSWIM)

Don't forget that's for an auto.

I have an 04 9-3 rag top 2.0t Vector, i'm averaging 29 mpg, a good mix of town, short trips, country roads and mways.....I'm pleased with that, although I've only had it for a short time, I'll soon relax and my right foot'll no doubt get heavier....
