yep you are right, avoid at all costs sensonic as if they break which i got told by my independent saab dealer they do break, it costs a fortune to fix.i would go with manual in fact in january i will be buying one myself

Yup the radio code is a must - any interruption from the battery will cause it to reset.
A lot were recalled to have welding done to the bulkhead - should have been done by Saab.
Heavy-ish clutch is normal up to 1998 (?) I think. My '97 SE Turbo has always been heavy, even with a fresh clutch. Failing clutch tends to have a low biting point rather than heavy if I remember correctly.
Enjoy - had mine for years and very little costs up to now (touch wood). It just spent 2 years SORNd, turned over occasionally and fluids checked etc, just sailed through an MOT with no advisories.
Good cars - bit different as not many on the roads. Still quite quick - when new they would hit 60 in about 7.8 secs, had mine to 140 on an autobahn on a European tour.
The forums via Saabcentral are all very good; very supportive and knowledgeable community!
and avoid sensonic!
