Hi, some muppet backed into my 9.5 in a multi-storey today (no CCTV), scratching the bonnet to the metal in a series of scratches over a space of around 5 inches by 2 inches. My question is - could one of the regular franchises (Chips Away, etc) potentially sort this, or if not could anyone recommend a good paint shop in the Clitheroe/Blackburn/Preston area that could repair?

Chips Away would probably be able to repair it but a body shop would do a better job respraying the whole panel. Chips Away would be cheaper though. It depends how old the car is, how long you're going to keep it and how much you love it I suppose.

James Alpes is an accident repair place in Clitheroe, think they do a lot of insurance work (well they did when I was on work there 8 years ago).
Couldn't comment on how good or how cheap it may be as I've never used them, but they are pretty big, I'd imagine if its just the bonnet that needs a respray it shouldn't be too much.

I take it the person responsible for the damage just drove off, leaving no contact details? Its a real shame when people can't take responsibility for what they've done. mad

Yup. Just cost me £200 to fix a crease that covered both doors on my 9-5 this month. Poxy supermarket car parks. My Saab now gets the same treatment as my Mustang..further away and two spots.

Sorry for OT.
