Any thoughts here chaps, my wife was driving me home last evening (picked up from the pub), it had been raining very hard and we came across a section of flooded road (maybe 250mm deep) cars seemed to be getting through with care, we waited our turn and went for it, she got through most of it then all the power died. Car would not start again (engine will not turn over) a kind soul towed us to a safe lay by, where we have left the car. My fear is that water may have gotten into the engine (is the air in take low,1999 93 SE sport)

Any thoughts on what damage we could of done

cheers Mark

If the engine light (the orange one) is on the engine management system will cut the turbo anyway.

It doesn't sound good though. Good luck with it

claim on your insurance.

I worked in a Saab garage for a few years when we had those really bad floods

We had 17 flooded cars in our place with various degrees of plymsole line on the dashboards, including a 9000 with the centre console fill of sludge (yuk!!)

Most managed to claim on their insurance and i did reher well out of it !hehe

at a guess: problem is that you have flooded the immobiliser under the drivers seat (water leaked under the door).
