Tested a new shape 9-5 HOT today and have pretty much decided that I'll be buying one when my lease car goes back in October.

However, the one thing that does put me off them is the 'Dame Edna' front end treatment.

Is there currently a quick and easy way to replace the chrome with satin black, or will I have to take the trim off and spray it up myself?

These seem to tone it down a bit...satin finish rather than bright chrome.

As linked above, there's only the Hirsch option, or else it's gonna be a DIY job.

I have seen blackout tape used (satin black) to 'de-chrome' vehicle trim on a website somewhere...If I remember where, I'll post it. Might work/be worth investigating?
