Fuel economy for a 2000 9-3 SE Turbo?
Discussion
I've been looking into picking up one of these in 3dr format as a daily runner and I was wondering what mpg it returned with it being a 2.0l FPT?
Having driven nothing but BMWs for over a decade it's taken a lot to break the trend but I've always had a soft spot for Saabs and these appear to represent really good value.
Short of 'real world' running costs, is there anything else worth noting when looking for one of these?
Cheers

The SEs,if I recall correctly came in 185bhp and 205bhp(ie HOT like the Aeros). There will obviously be a difference. If its any help my 2002 9-3 Conv Aero HOT averages 28ish across the range of driving. Much, much better on a run.Having driven nothing but BMWs for over a decade it's taken a lot to break the trend but I've always had a soft spot for Saabs and these appear to represent really good value.

go advice on checking the cars over
Also, if buying one make sure the bulkhead isn't cracked - this is a weak point and the steering rack effectively detaches from the bulkhead, causing MOT failure, dodgy handling (to say the least), and pedals moving with the steering!
Apparently Saab contributed either partially or fully to the cost of repairs if the car had been maintained at Saab dealerships but mine has never seen a Saab dealer yet last year my cars previous owner had half of the cost met by Saab UK.

As above, the bulkhead problem is the worst thing I have heard off. That does not effect all cars, and is not the end of the world to put right either.
My S ( not SE ) LPT ( 154 HP ) does just over 30 mpg, but in fairness it is usualy used for motorway trips. Around town, its not so good.
It will be for sale very soon, and if I get I time to polish it will be in the clasifieds this weekend. Send me a PM if it interests you ( mods, feel free to delete this if I am overstepping the rules on advertising ).
