Hmmm...wheeesh noise on full boost

Hello.
Had my MY04 63k miles Aero a couple of weeks now and I can clearly hear a very noticable 'wheeeeesh' when I put my foot down hard. I would expect a bit of turbo noise but this seems too much?
This suggests a split in a gas carrying pipe or loose connection somewhere but any thoughts?
No dreaded white smoke and power seems about right, although the car is still new to me. No engine lights on and drives fine.
I don't really know where to look under the bonnet to check turbo related pipes/connections yet either. [embarrassed cough]
