Hi

My 9-3 ( tid Airflow ) is due the 18k service, I have been quoted £390. Sounds a bit steep to me, is that about right ?

Where from? Sounds about right for a main dealer.

Whereabouts are you? There are loads of really good independant Saab specialists around who will do a good (or better) job for much less.

Don't know the area myself - might be worth asking on uksaabs.co.uk?

I have just been quoted £180 for a 54k service on an 9-3 Aero, probably the same service as at 18k?

Simply Saab in Bristol, great service, and Steve on reception is always very helpful.

This is obviously no use to you in Manchester, but a good starting point as a price comparison.

Having said that, mine is just 3 years old (by 3 days), and throughout waranty I did use main dealer to make waranty easier, as I have had a few problems with the central locking & ECU.

Try TK Autos in Edenfield nr Bury tel 01706 825600. They've been looking after 'Trouble' my 9-5 for me and are very reasonable.

I eventually got it done at Saab Manchester at a relatively good price ( long story ), however all they seem to have done is change the oil ( I was hoping for a valet, screenwash etc )

Am I asking too much here ?

Are they an indy or main dealer?

My indy always give it a wash although most don't. A dealer valet usually means back to black + air freshener which I can well do without! Anything more and you will be paying for it somewhere, like the coffee machines and pot plants at main dealers!

I think I paid £300 for my 4 year service, which was at a main dealer.

Mine was about that for the basic service and that was with an Indy. Will be hunting around a bit more this year though

It was actually at a main dealer, although they owed me a massive favour from the last visit.

Thanks
