9-5 Brake fluid change
Discussion
I have an 03 9-5 Vector Estate 2.2TiD. I think the brake fluid needs changing as the pedal feels very soft. Should have been done when serviced, but wasn't.
Haynes don't do a manual for diesel engines, but would the manual for petrol engines do (apart from the engine of course)are all the other bits the same?
Basically is it a straight forward job or are there any complications such as valves in the circuit?

Highly unlikely brake fluid is the cause of your problem. Sounds more like you've a pressure problem that need investigating by someone who knows what they're looking for. That said, to bleed all four brakes and run new fluid through the system is a pretty straightforward job if done correctly. Yes the petrol manual will suffice in the manner you speak, but it sounds like you're better off leaving to someone experienced in such matters. Brakes are important after all!!!!
