Hi guys

Got shunted from behind at traffic lights this morning, Christ knows how she managed it but I'm trying to contain my anger for now!

Anyway, as my 02 93 has a fairly substantial towbar on the back of it, the front of her Honda Jazz appears slightly more rearranged than Sven!

I need to get it into the garage for them to look at it but can anyone give me a heads up as to how bad this might be? There is no obvious damage to mine, I'm not sure how fast she was going, fast enough to do more than tap the back but not fast enough to deploy her airbags. Presumbaly the towbar is attached to the chassis?

We're off to LM in two weeks with the trailer so I could really do without any problems!

I wouldn't be surprised if you were fine. We had someone rearrange their Pug 406 on the back of Mrs B's GM900 and all she suffered was some Pug paint on her bumper. Get it checked though...

Thanks Prof, I've spoke to our Saab Indy and I'm going to run it out to them this afternoon. Apparently the towbar is fixed to the boot floor, they also say that it's more likely that their is no structural damage.

I would be very, very surprised if it had bent anything. Her crumpled front bumper and the give in your suspension would have disapated it nicely.

Oh and I call mine Sven too!! smile

The Rover is called Reg.

ps...I have been known to use my tow bar as a rear parking sensor in times of slight misjudgement (never hitting another car mind), they're pretty robust.

laugh I thought that was a parking sensor laugh

Well the good news is that you are all correct, my wonderful Saab has stood up to the bullying Honda Jazz. There is no damage at all to the boot floor, bumper etc., it's bent the bike rack that is bolted to the tow-bar so I'm going to have to replace that (at her expense!) but the combination of the bike rack and tow bar seem to have been enough to stop the damage. I can't tell you how relieved I am, it would have been a write off if there was structural damage and financially that would have been horrendous for us.

I've fared slightly less well, I've got a definite case of whiplash which the Chiro says I can expect to get worse in the next 24 to 48 hours!

Piglet...............that is great news about the Car but do not forget to look after yourself, the swelling in your neck should it happen needs to be monitored. if in doubt, get to the Doc.

Cheers Rob, the Chiropractor is documenting it all and whilst it's painful as hell at the moment, it seems to be muscular and so should heal OK within the next few weeks.

It amazes me that I've got a whiplash injury (I struggle to say that without thinking of Max Mosely!) from a quite low impact accident.
