9-3 stereo removal

Have just done something stupid, pushed the hazard light switch and it disapeard into the dash, looks to me the easiest way to replace it is via the stereo aperture. So how do I get it out, have inserted 4 skewers into the four locking holes but it still seems to be held in place.

Thats all that holds them in if I remember correctly, they do need a bit of force to remove them. I took my 95's out to replace the head unit and lost all the skin on my knuckles in doing so !!
