900 Headlamp adjustment problems
Discussion
My P&J, a P reg 900 (model and price...) has developed a fault with the offside headlamp adjustment motor. The symptoms are
(i) Offside headlamp beam hits the road surface at about half the distance of the nearside beam - I'd thought this would just be a case of readjusting the basic beam alignment but
(ii) with the negine off but ignition on a clicking noise can be heard from the back of the lamp
So I'm thinking that the headlamp leveling motor won't stop trying to drive the headlamp down and has stripped the gears. I think I need to remove the power supply to motor then roughly realign the beam and leave it there till MOT time for final alignment. I've tried the Haynes manual but it doesn't even give any pointers on this never mind giving it the 5 spanners. So before I crack the tool box (and put £50 in the swear box...) has anybody got any better ideas, or ideas full stop...

I'd post this question onto the NG900 workshop forum on Saab Central if I was you...(i) Offside headlamp beam hits the road surface at about half the distance of the nearside beam - I'd thought this would just be a case of readjusting the basic beam alignment but
