It looks like a good website, but I have not read every single page. My first thoughts are "too good to be true, so it probably is". A mate at work has just fitted one and reckons its the muts nuts. I was thinking of getting one for the Saab.
Any thoughts?

Intersting page, and answers some of the "questions" I had after reading the Ecotech site.
I was thinking that a rolling road "before & after" would answer the question. After all, any excuse to go on a RR is a good one. However, by then I would have bought the device, so it would be too late. When I read on the website that there is no improvement shown on a RR as only the throttle response and economy improved, that started the alarm bells in a big way.

Yes, so several people have told me this week.
So, if I cannot make it more economical, I will have to settle for making it faster.....
Now, theres a thought, is it easy to get a bit more out of the LPT lump? ( not spending too much obviously, or it would be cheaper to sell & buy a faster one... )

Depending on which car and engine you have a software upgrade for a few hundred pounds will net you 50+ bhp, similar torque, and your mpg figures may even improve!
Have a look at the websites of maptun, bsr, abbott et al
Abbot racing do a stage 1 ecu upgrade whoch works for both lpt and hpt models. Both give around 220 bhp, obvoisly the gains are more noticed on the lpt than the hpt. its oly around £300
Also might be worth investing in a manual boost controller. Alot of people say that they are dangerous, but they arnt if they are set up propperly. They give you boost much earlier, and overrides the boost limit control on 1st and 2nd gear, turns the car into a bit of an animal, and its fun wheelspins in first in the dry with no clutch dumping needed....., petrol consumtion does suffer a bit though. (ave 21 mpg) ouch... In the wet you need to go easier than normal though...
I have the MBC on my full pressure 185 bhp turbo, i am waiting to do the abbot upgrade, but i want to also do a viggen exaust conversion, along with the ecu. so 230-235 bhp should be the target is enoght for a small front wheel drive car to start with. You have to remember that the chasis on the GM models arnt all that great and if you go for more power than that withough serios chassis bracing etc you are asking for trouble...
