Blown turbo on 2.2 TiD
Discussion
Took my saab 95 2.2 TiD to the (indie) garage since it had lost power and was wheezing..
Basically the turbo has blown. Bloody thing, wasn't that long ago the intercooler went on it..
Anyway they recon somewhere over £700 - does this sound right?
If it does, is it a good idea to get another from a breakers yard or similar? The car is a (comfortable) nightmare.
Where can I get cheap Saab parts to see me by?

Try this lot:
The Workshop (Saab Specialists) Ltd - Parts no: 01179 406151
I found them very cheap compared to others when I wanted a sensor for the NG900.
Cheers for that Prof Beard. The Workshop (Saab Specialists) Ltd - Parts no: 01179 406151

I'd previously rung Simply Saab and got a quote, then rang your number above to find they are the same people
Got a good quote either way though
my Turbo went on my 9-3 SS 2.2 TID , I was quoted around 250 for part and a couple of hours labour from Simply Saab in Bristol. There are 2 types of turbo, one is shared with the Vectras, which is probably why mine was cheaper. However SS have quoted me an extortionate amount for a clutch replacement comapred with Economy Saab - try 01179 380003. Cheers
