9-5 2.3t "Time for service" question
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Ive had this car since July and have completed 9500 miles in her,The car has now completed 86700 ( just run in ) .Its a "y" plate 2001 185bhp se manual estate version. When I bot the car it was on 77k and needed an annual service which was completed and also had the sump drained and cleaned out in case of sludge this was service no.8 in the book.
Is SID telling me the truth? by my reckoning the service should be due July or 12k miles whichever sooner. Or is the service on demand as my wifes merc is ie dependant on driving conditions / miles etc?
Any help greatfully appreciated

Suspect the service reminder on the SID wasn't reset when they did the pre-sale service...?
I thought that initially but it would have wanted a service well before now so am a little confused. Especially as the message is no longer appearing. Does it turn itself off after a few days?siwil1 said:

Does it turn itself off after a few days? The indicator does go away after a certain number of starts. I think they are pre-set to some sort of servicing schedule but mine certainly didn't match the servicing schedule specified by Saab!
I just don't worry about it, I service at the intervals suggested by Saab or when it suits (in low mileage years we just go for an annual service and a separate oil change).
