Saab Running Costs

Well its a mondeo vs a 9-3

I was wondering what the running costs on a saab 9-3 1.9 tdi where likely to be...in the north can anyone shed estimated figures for servicing major and minor etc and how expensive parts can be.

I just had a big (72k) service done on my 9-5 aero at Aeromotive Saab in Batley west yorks..

£440 in total

Service was £290
New rear discs + pads £150

Te same job at Saab would have been about £750!! so.....if you have a local independant then they are no more expensive to run I'd say.

I had a 102k mile service and MOT on my 2002 9-3 2.2 TDI yesterday. It came to £292 including some other bits I got looked at (bulkhead check, wheel balancing, tracking, door catch, hatch struts). That was also a Saab Independant.

Saab independents are plentiful in the UK, and a lot of them are rated higher than the dealer network for technical competence as well as customer service by the Saab lot.

To anyone near the Midlands I can thoroughly recommend Glenn Ellis at Carnetix in Melton Mowbray (sp?) - top chap, no bull, total attention to detail. Tell him Eric sent you.

The Saab Indy (Simply Saab, Bristol) is streets ahead of the Saab main dealer in their knowledge, service and pretty well everything!

2 Stroke 2 Turbo are fairly well established and in the area. I recall another place in Enfield I think.

You may wish to avoid a place run by some Brothers.
