Recommendation - just had my 9-5 serviced at an indy
Discussion
Just had a 72k service on my Aero and including a new set of rear discs/pads it came to £440.
This was at aeromotive Saab in Batley West Yorks who were pleasant enough and didn't charge any labour on top of the £150 parts cost for the rear brakes. All together somewhere in the region of £350 cheaper than my local dealer!!
Only gripe is they don't have any courtesy cars, which can be a right pain in the @rse sometimes.
Seems to be the only Saab indy in west yorks too, which is a bit $hit; Fortunately they seem to be alright, which is not so $hit
ps...The discs and pads could prob have been sourced cheaper elswhere (GSF) but had to get them in from Saab due to needing the car back sharpish.

Aeromotive Saab are very highly thought of on the Saab forums - I don't think I've ever read a bad word about them. We live a bit too far away to use them, but the owner was very helpful on the 'phone when I was looking for a classic 900 turbo to buy (didn't get one in the end) I wish they ahd a web page though, as I occasionally see a car for sale on AutoTrader from them, usually at a good price.
He had a nice loking white 900 Turbo in that was being fettled with, dunno if it was stock or a customers car though, maybe it'd be worth a phonecall?
He did coment about how the old 900, 9000's are built like tanks, whereas the newer 95, 93 are built more like vauxhalls....unfortunately
Mines been great so far though (touch lots of wood), not a single issue in 5k miles and only had to pay out for todays service oh, and a puncture repair.....I don't even mind the handling! (some seem to think it's a bit crap??).

Sorry, only just seen your comment - I'm ashamed to say I bought a 2002 Nissan Primera in the end, though I hope to go back to a classic 900 turbo one day (or a 10 year old Merc CLK, my other dream car). We do still have a 9-5 estate though, so at least one Saab on the drive. The Nissan is a nice car - comfy, loads of space. We've had 2 previous 900T's, selling them to get more practical cars when we had children - wish we had kept the last one though, even though it was unreliable. I just used to like looking at it, and driving it was always a thrill - and there aren't many daily-driver cars that you can truly say that about.
