I am looking at buying a 3.0v6 TiD 9-5 to replace my old 2.3 lpt 9-5 which seems to have had an engine failure. Could anybody who has one of these give me an idea of fuel economy on these things?

Thanks in advance,

I've covered 30000 miles in mine now. With spirited driving on long runs I get about 38 mpg. It drops to low to mid 30s around town and if I'm light with the right foot it's not difficult to get over 40 mpg on a run. The way this car manages to combine performance, economy and refinement at such a bargain price on the used market never ceases to amaze me. The only thing that comes close in terms of value IMO is the Volvo S80 D5. Had one of those too but after 100,000 miles looking at the same dash I fancied a change!

I would generally agree with Slippery, my SID normally floats between 30 & 37, depending if I drive (37, long motorway runs) or my wife drives (30, around town).

105k from new, great car.
