They were talking about Biggin Hill...

TBH all they need is a large car park!

Depends on where the meet sets out from - I'm in Bromley so if it does go from Biggin Hill I'll only have to get out of bed 15 minutes before the run starts wink

Fingers crossed my car will be ready, I haven't seen it for 9 weeks and it only went in for a clutch linkage!

OK folks here it is...printers at the ready?
THE PLAN
The plan is that we all have a fun day driving APPROX 60 miles through Surrey, West Kent and East Sussex.
WHERE AND WHEN?
Sunday 30th March 2008. Kenley Aerodrome, Surrey to Brighton Marina, East Sussex.
Meeting at 09.00-09.15 ...Leaving at 09.30 estimate arrival at Brighton Marina 12.30..must be off site no later that 15.00 (or i have to pay extra for the security officer)

DON'T FORGET THAT THE CLOCKS CHANGE ON SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!
THE ROUTE
Forgive me if this isn't sat-nav exact but get the map out and have a look OR ignore it..turn up and i will have the route printed out on the day.
The meeting place is SOUTH LONDON GLIDING CLUB...this is found on a road that may not be on your map..VICTOR BEAMISH AVE its just off SALMONS LANE (western end of road).
Once we are all ready we drive out of the gliding club
turn left onto SALMONS LANE
left onto WHYTLEAFE HILL.
Over LEVER CROSSING.
straight over roundabout onto B270..HILLBURY ROAD.
follow road to left bend ...WESTHALL ROAD.
RIGHT on to B269..LIMPSFIELD ROAD.
B269 uUNDER M25 to the junction of A25.
Left onto A25 then first right onto B269 towards EDENBRIDGE
at DEN CROSS follow road to left onto B2026 towards HARTFIELD.
On B2026 turn left on A264 then immediately right back onto B2026.
at HARTFIELD right onto B2110 towards FOREST ROW.
At mini roundabout in FOREST ROW turn left onto A22.
At WYCH CROSS ..over traffic lights and just passed the pub turn right onto A275.
Towards NORTH CHAILEY.
At A272 turn right then immediatley left onto A275 towards LEWES
into LEWES at traffic lights next to prison turn right towards A27-BRIGHTON.
At A27 roundabout turn right onto duel carriageway.
on A27 take the first sliproad (not the pub/petrol station) signed to FALMER..B2123
straight over traffic lights (beware speed camera on hill)
into ROTTINGDEAN ..past pond and turn left
at lights with pub ahead turn RIGHT onto A259 towards BRIGHTON.
along cliff tops and keep left ..signed to BRIGHTON MARINA VILLAGE. down slip road and left under bridge.
YOU HAVE ENTERED BRIGHTON MARINA.
with signs for car park infront of you TURN LEFT down slope...you will have ASDA on your left. straight over roundabout where there is a barrier. Let the security officer know you are part of the L2B SAAB run. you will be directed to the central quadrant where we will park around the central paved area 5MPH as this is a pedestrian area.
NOW THE SENSIBLE BIT
Rules and regulations...when at Brighton Marina
All cars must be road legal
All cars must obey speed limits on site.
Please obey security officers requests.
Do not leave litter.
what should i bring?
If your car has oil/fuel leaks can you please bring some sort of drip tray
A map book/pre programmed sat-nav
A big smile...even if it's raining!
There's no break on the run!
Ther are plenty of petrol stations along the way...there may be an official stop but i am waiting to hear if they can provide staff to make tea/coffe for 50-ish cars at the drop of a hat...come back for progress on this!
What will we do when we get there?
Park up and either go for a meal..stand and chat about SAAB's and the weather...go shopping..go bowling..have a stroll around the sea wall. Give john-saab £1 to cover the cost of the security guard (£56 )
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE
