Going to test drive the estate version as a possible replacement for our Impreza estate. Anyone got one or offer any thoughts beforehand?
Cheers

Car is awsome, great mix of perfomance, comfort, safety without the in your face aspect of many other such cars, a proper Q car.

Just got a new '08 model 2.8 aero (saloon) company car this week. Still running it in (sort of wink) but early impressions are very good.

The build quality is far better than I'd expected given comments I'd previously heard. The engine is an absolute peach; smooth, quiet, torquey and barely any hint of the turbo. It really moves too. It's also extremely comfy.

My only criticism at this stage is the handling - I'm not a fan of large FWD cars and would prefer rear-wheel or 4WD. The handling isn't bad (there's plenty of grip) but I'm not sure it's up there with the FWD Mondeo I've driven a couple of times and I may tire of it over time. However, I don't have much time for country blasts nowadays so it's fine for the commute etc.

I had to go for the auto as the wife won't drive a manual, and it's a really good box. Smooth, sensible and comes with a sports mode and paddles on the wheel for manual changing (which I'm just starting to get used to).

The other plus is the image. I really like the fact that it's not an Audi or BMW (both great cars but the Saab is a bit more discreet in my opinion).

I agree with previous posts. A different choice and a real Q car.

Just had a brochure through the postbox for the Turbo X. Seems a direct competitor for the gb270 from Subaru, which incidently has a dealer directly over the road in my part of the world.
280 bhp and 4WD, shame about the black/black only colour scheme. Mind at 33K it's not cheap.
