Which 9-5 for performance?

Hi

Thinking in terms of a Saab 9-5, probably saloon but maybe, just maybe an estate and have about £3500 to spend. Which model is the best performance wise ?

Aero specced cars will be the quickest but even the lesser models move along nicely once the Turbo's are on song. They arnt sprinters tho mid range is where they excell, Which IMO is where it's needed for overtaking etc.

The 2.0 versions with 150bhp may be a little underpowered in an estate when loaded.

I have an 185 bhp 2.3t estate and the performance is more than adequate (Elise is my other car so have a comparable!) but as I said they arnt 0-60 cars unless you get a full blown Aero version.

150bhp 2.0lpts are a bit ordinary, but the factory 'tuning kit' - chip, plugs and 2.0T badge - enables them to match the 2.3.

Unless insurance is an issue, though, it's hard to think of a reason not to buy an Aero.
