Funnily enough my wife's Corsa is doing the same at the moment.

It seems to die as you come to a stop - the revs drop and the engine dies. Can't restart for 10 mins or so.

AA geezer reckoned it was the fuel injection system. Bloody intermittent faults.

Does the 9000 have a crank position sensor? CPS? On a 9-5 the symptons you point at would suggest either the DI cassette or the CPS.

What changes when it dies? Do you still get a spark? Is the fuel pump still running? Are the injectors still being triggered?

I've come across this/similar with 900s -- mine and a mates - same engines in general. In both cases it was a sensor that screws into the cylinder head - "coolant sensor" (NOTE - NOT the sensr near the thermostat which is the coolant temp SENDER). They can be got very cheaply - I think I paid about £12 plus p&P. Might be worth looking into?
