9-5 plastic Vs alloy delivery pipe

Anyone know when the changeover from an alloy to plastic IC to engine delivery pipe occured for the 2.0 lpt engine? The reason I ask is that my understanding is that the change was made to reduce noise, and the induction noise on part throttle in my 98 9-5 really gets on my nerves.

iirc the year was 99, also due to heat soak. you could try ebay for the part as plenty of breakers stripping cars on there
