SAAB 900 8V turbo cold start timer
Discussion
Hi
Its the electric thing thet gives power to the cold start injector for a few seconds in cold weather to provide a rich mixture.
Mine is on all the time so I have to leave it disconected or the engine won't start because it is too rich, OK disconected in this weather but I need to sort it before winter comes

Hmmm, is it an optional thing? Is it a UK market car? I think you'd be best off asking somebody on saabcentral....
No, standard issue on K-Jetronic equipped cars, i.e. 8 valvers. Mine used to give continuity as long as you cranked the engine when cold at some point, instead of 8 seconds max. Which meant if you stalled the cold engine and tried starting it again immediately, it would flood the chambers...Glenn Ellis, then workshop manager at Trent Saab, traced the fault along with a host of other things and replaced it with one from a 'donor'. He's now got his own enterprise with a partner in Melton Mowbray - www.carnetix.co.uk. I suggest you give him a shout - little expertise left on these old warhorses elsewhere...
