Finally got to look at the 9000 this week, seemed to go pretty well, auto seemed to behave properly on a 30 minute test drive, all the electris worked as did the a/c, only prob was brakes, which need doing. anyone have any figures as to what new pads and possibly discs are going to cost fitted - (so I can work out a discount to relect the cost)

You can look up parts prices on partsforsaab and elkparts to get some idea.

Did you check the alarm/immobiliser?

yes it honked once when I unlocked it with the plipper, and when I stopped briefly I had to take the key out to restart rather than just turning again which I assume was the immobiliser

overall I was quite impressed, although the bodywork has seen better days, but the leather chairs were superbly comfortable!

any clues as to the likely labour in doing the brakes, the parts seem reasonable

cheers

Never done it myself, but if you are changing the discs be careful of the ABS sensors (I assume it has ABS)

Thinking about it I rekon the discs are shot,

I generally hand maintenance over to professionals - I know how cars work, but I'd rather let an expert take them to bits
