Radio Code NG900
Discussion
Hello Everyone.
Just purchased a Saab 900 turbo se coupe from a second hand car dealership.
radio works fine, as when i test drove the car could use cd's and listen to the radio fine.
before i took delivery of the veicle, it went into a garage to have some new oil seals fitted to the gearbox and a track rod end. The mechanics disconnected the radio and its now asking me for the code.
I have the code card here with me, but all it does is just sit there when i put the code in, doing nothing. I put the code in and it just stays on the screeen. I follow the instructions like the book says, but it just sits there.
any suggestions?

I might be that the radio has been changed. Saab dealers can normally check the code for you (they will need details off the V15 to confirm ownership). If it has been changed privately, you might well find that the code for the replacement is actually written on the back of the radio - it was on the one I changed on our old 900.
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried to remove the radio, as i have the special tool to do it. But it seems jammed in, and wont come out.
i even tried removing the heater controls and pushing it from behind with my hands, but it wont budge.
i dont want to wreck the radio getting it out, but its looking like that if i can sort this out soon.

Well I took the car to Ian Allen Saab in virginia water.
they could not understand why the radio was not taking the code either. They said that it was the right radio, and keycode but for some reason it was just hanging.
They whipped it out (with some difficulty as for some reason it would not budge to start with), and unplugged the cables that go into the back of the radio. When they plugged them back in, it instantly come back to life! took them nealry an hour to get the radio out, and they did not charge me a penny.
looks like i will be going back there for servicing! lol
Weird though isnt it?

It's weird the radio wouldn't come out - they normally just come out when you the "hoops" in the holes... Glad you have it sorted though, that technology for you isn't it?
