Alright,

I've got an ng900 2.0i S 3dr coupe which is currently drinking fuel, i'm trying to drive it carefully and it's only returning about 25mpg max, i'm sure when the previous owner was using it he was getting over 30 on long trips.

Any ideas as to why it would be using that much more fuel?

Laters,

My dad used to have a gm900 2.0 - he recalls it getting terrible fuel consumption as it was so slow you had to floor it everywhere.

My brother has a 2.3 and that is quite thirsty, he sees 28-29mpg from it, I,m not surprised the 2.0 is worse.

We heave a 94 NG 900S 2.0i auto - it is giving better fuel consumption than you indicate on runs - over 30mpg on runs certainly. It IS crap around town though - low 20s. What year is yours?

Mine is a 96 3dr coupe. The engine is getting on a bit and i'm not that surprised that it's using as much fuel as it is really, it just seemed to change suddenly.

I'm currently driving about 45 miles each way to work and the car is using about £15 worth of fuel. I estimate that means the car is returning about 25 mpg. The tech specs says it should do about 28 combined so it's not that far off. But i'm fairly certain that it was returning more on a run when with the previous owner (another member of the family) and as nearly all my commute is dual carriageways and motorways i was expecting more.

Oh, i agree with you it is really really slow. Still it was free so mustn't grumble.#
I guess i shouldn't worry to much it is only a stop gap until i finish uni.

Cheers. Jam.
